Bosco's Last Day at Raytek (8-31-2005)
After 20+ years the day finally arrived. Monica surprised me by arranging for a limo to pick me up. While I was saying my good-byes, a bunch of the girls from sales snuck out and got in the limo. When I got downstairs and saw the limo - I was so surprised!! The chauffer opened the door and all the girls came pouring out of the limo. When they had all finally gotten out, who should pop his head out, but --- my good buddy, and ex-Rayteker, John! Monica and I piled into the car and we took off to go and pick up John's wife, Kim, up at UCSC. We popped the champagne and enjoyed a leisurely drive through Santa Cruz County, hitting Davenport, the wharf, Capitola Village, and finally ending up at the Shadowbrook, where we were joined by former Raytekers, Jody and Sam, for a great meal and fun conversation.
I had known we were going to have dinner with John and Kim, because this all started when I made a bet that whomever lost at ping-pong the previous week would treat the winner and spouse to dinner at Shadowbrook. Since I took him in the best of 5 games, I won that bet quite handily! All the rest was icing on the cake, which Monica put together when she got wind of the outcome of the bet. It was great fun!
